New Girl May/23/2010
May 23rd, 2010Hello again from Northern Thailand,
We want to introduce our newest girl at Home of Promise. Her name is Paula, and she’s 7 years old. Her father died when he fell from a high cliff on the mountain near their small village. Her mother was left very poor and could not provide all that Paula needs, especially school tuition and access to an education. So she asked the house parents at Home of Promise to let Paula come to live in their Christian home.
Paula already speaks a little Thai, and started to school last week with the other girls at Home of Promise.
Two of the girls in our newest orphan home lived in this village hut with their mother and an infant brother.
We found out yesterday that a fire in the village has destroyed this house and the mother and child are poor AND homeless.
We are using some FHF emergency funds to send the mother food and money to start rebuilding.

There have been some dark days and deadly political clashes in Thailand during the past several months.
But we pray that God will use events to shine the light of His Word and open hearts to receive the Good News.
Pray that all political parties and factions will decide to seek a peaceful resolution and end the destruction and bloodshed.
