Summertime Mar 14/2010
March 14th, 2010Hello brothers and sisters in Christ,
This week, though we were very busy with many meetings and lots of office work, we’ve been blessed nonetheless. Shirley continues to regain her strength and energy, but her voice is still weak. We’ve finished giving away the few remaining winter blankets and clothes. Our orphans have finished their school year and started their summer break. In every FHF home, house parents have started work on some new self-help projects such as: pig farming, raising chickens, planting corn, and vegetable gardens. The families continue, through the summer, to join together on Friday evenings for group worship and fellowship. Meanwhile, the smoggy air is actually a bit worse, and the heat is increasing…often passing 100 degrees.
So, pray for God to protect our children this summer. Pray that God will bless our family projects to be successful. Pray that the air pollution will not cause health problems in our homes. And continue to pray for full and complete healing for Shirley. May God bless you.
Grace and Peace to you,
Dave & Shirley Callahan
This little guy received a set of warm sweat pants and sweatshirt last month, while the mountains were still cold at night.
In our new Home of Promise, the orphan girls are getting more comfortable with their new home and house parents.

At Home of Blessing, Prajuab, the house father, helped his boys clean and prepare a small garden space for vegetables.
In Home of Comfort, Daniel and the boys spent time learning Christian songs to sing in worship.
The air quality in Chiang Mai is so bad that it’s hard to see the sunrise or sunset. This smog normally lasts until April.
