Prayer request 3/28/2010
March 28th, 2010Dear friends,
We want to share two special and specific prayer requests this week.
1) Pray for Abel, one of our orphans at Home of Comfort. He is struggling in his school work. We’ve tested all the children, and we know Abel scored above average on our basic IQ test, but he has a short attention span and is not achieving his full potential. Pray that we can find (and afford) a better school and classroom situation for him. Pray that God will lead the house parents and bless them with wisdom as they seek to help the children.
2) Self-help projects are underway in every home and family. By these efforts we pray each family will be able to provide for themselves, and require less support in years to come. Pray that God will bless every family and allow each project to be very successful. We pray that God’s blessing upon these projects will be so great & obvious that everyone will know He is real and at-work blessing His children. All for His glory.
Thanks to all of you for your faithful prayer support.
Grace and Peace to you,
Dave & Shirley Callahan

This is Abel and his mother in her village hut. She asked FHF to give him the food, shelter, and education she could not afford.
Every home has plenty of small projects such as vegetable gardens, chickens, ducks, ,etc.
This year each family has started some lager projects such as a pig-farm partnership with village families.
Poor villagers will do most of the work, and be paid with some of the pigs when they are ready for market.
We are looking for unique farming & market opportunities, such as growing coffee in the mountain villages, as shown here.
