Thai Birthday 1/11/2010
January 10th, 2010Hello Dear friends,
This week I’ll share a few photos of a birthday celebration at our Home of Comfort. It’s a Thai custom that friends use their finger to take part of the icing off the cake and rub it on the face of the birthday-boy or girl. At home of Comfort our house father, Daniel, celebrated his December birthday with the children. Pray that all of our children, staff, house parents, and families continue to grow in the love and comfort of God’s Grace.
Blessings to you,
Dave & Shirley Callahan
With lights out and candles lit, the family gathered around Daniel and the cake. It looks like a torch, but I promise,
It was just a few candles. (sorry for the grainy photo)

After blowing out the candles, Daniel lets the children take turns marking his face with icing. What a sweet custom!
With his face painted, all the boys surrounded their house father for a birthday portrait. I can see their love.

Also this month, we’ve distributed many winter blankets and children’s clothes in many poor villages.
These girls are wearing some of the fleece shirt and pant sets that we were able to purchase this year.
Pray that we receive donations to continue this worthy evangelism-tool ministry. The free gift opens many doors and
Provides opportunities to share, and demonstrate, the Gospel.
