More travel 7/1/09
July 1st, 2009Hello again,
As promised, here is another quick report of our recent travels.
Late last week we drove North to Mae Sai, a small border-crossing town at the Thai-Myanmar border. Our friends there are missionaries working with the Burmese people. They also have started a ministry of specialized agriculture training that will enable villagers to improve their harvests and employ organic-farming methods. We are already planning to have our house parents go through this valuable training as soon as possible. Pray for the ministries and children in Mae Sai.
Grace and Peace to you,
Dave & Shirley Callahan
As we left Chiang Mai we passed a herd of cows that had wandered into the busy highway. Cows & Cars don’t mix!
In Mae Sai, our friends took us into the street market to buy vegetables and meat for our fellowship meal.
Our friends support a daycare center where poor children are protected and taught to love God.
While along the Northern border, we took a boat trip across the Mea Kong river into Laos.
This is the view looking back toward Thailand in the late afternoon sun.
