Samoeng visit 6/21/09

June 22nd, 2009

Hello friends,

This week I will try to share a couple notes about our travels.

We visited a hill tribe hostel in Samoeng to discuss their request for continued aid.

Faithful Heart already has a generous sponsor who gives money to feed the children there.

They all come from extremely poor families and live in the Christian hostel to attend school.

Pray that all the children in the Samoeng hostel will come to Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Grace and peace to you,

Dave & Shirley Callahan

Here is our small group as we stopped for a photo high in the mountains west of Chiang Mai.

At the Samoeng hill tribe hostel, the children posed in their school uniforms.

The children were happy to sit with Shirley and allow me to take some pictures. The little angel on Shirley’s

Lap has talc powder on her face…a common practice among the hill tribe people.

I "only" have twins – amlsot 21 months old – but I completely agree with the necessity of a schedule. In theory I would love to be able to throw caution to the wind at times and do something really crazy…like go out to lunch…but if it doesn't gel with the schedule, then it doesn't happen. It's just not worth the turmoil a schedule break can create, and the last thing I need with twins is more turmoil! HA!I also agree that you have to prioritize along multiple variables to see what's really important to fit into your schedule, like housework. Even as a SAHM, I skimp in other areas so I can have someone come in once a month to do the deep cleaning. Scrubbing the baseboards is just not something I want to make time for!Great post!
