Hello to our dear friends,
Now we can share more information about young Benjamin, from Home of Grace.
He is still in the hospital, and his kidneys haven’t responded to treatment. The doctors did a biopsy to determine what caused his kidneys to shut down, but the lab test takes up to 15 days… feedback is due next week. For now, we’re trying to help his house parents & relatives sort through questions about : treatment options, transplant possibilities, medical expenses, and much more. “Lord, you alone can heal me, you alone can save, and my praises are for you alone.”(Jerem 17:14)
While in the hospital (crowded room with 3 other patients) his Faithful Heart family has been doing all they can to show their love. Here Peter tenderly helps feed him one evening after school.
“whoever loves his brother is “walking in the light”… (1 John 2:10)
Benjamin’s house parents, Tom and Phikun, are working extra-long hours. She spends all-day at the hospital, and Tom’s taking care of the other boys in the home. One of our college dorm students, Tiida, goes to sleep on the concrete floor beside Benjamin’s bed every night…giving Phikun a break from her exhausting sickbed vigil.
[Jesus said] “I will not leave you alone and comfortless: I will come to you.” (John 14:18)
House father Tom, has even been trying to keep up with the labor needed on part of the current rice crop.
“But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.” (2 Chron 15:7)
Please pray for Tom & Phikun, for the other boys in their home, and for Benjamin. This sudden health emergency has been enormously stressful. We’re proud of how well they’ve responded.
“Wait for the LORD’s help. Be strong and brave, and wait for the LORD’s help.” (Psalm 27:14)
Meanwhile, it’s been raining daily—no, actually it’s been “pouring”, and our Home of Faith had to deal with some minor flooding. So, please remember all of our children & families as you pray.
“In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” (John 16:33)
Note: Several people have asked how to help with Benjamin’s medical expenses. We don’t yet know how great the cost may be, but we need volunteers to help publicize this urgent need and start collecting donations for his healthcare. If you feel God calling you, reply to this newsletter and we’ll help you get started.
“Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.” (Philippians 2:4 The Message)
May the peace of Christ abound in your heart,
