Callahan Corner: September 7, 2014

Hello dear friends,

This week we’ll share about some recent activities and include links to extra photos as well.

This was lunchtime one day at our outdoor kitchen; Shirley was joking with some of our staff & tea-workers around the table.

“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.  (Acts 2:42 NLT)

At the boys dorm, the construction has included this cross, made of glass blocks, to light the stairwell. The worker is applying stucco to walls and soon we can begin sealing & painting.

At the Christian dorm in Samoeng, the pastor/house father gets help from one of the children—they’re trying to prepare the paddy-mud by using a hand-pulled rake. Wow, that is very hard work!

After helping in the rice paddy, the dorm children have to trek back to their dorm.

“The LORD says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.’”  (Psalms 32:8 NLT)

We are pleased to have a new Thai-Christian lady who will take over our social-worker role. Her name is Gigg.

Please remember to pray often for the dear children and for their house parents—their lives here are fraught with difficulties, temptations, and bad cultural influences.

Grace and peace to you in Christ,

Dave & Shirley Callahan
