Hello dear friends,

Our time in the US has flown by, and this Saturday (Oct 28th) we plan to head back to our home & mission in Thailand. The extended time with family & friends this summer will cause our hearts to be especially tender and sensitive as we say goodbye. But we also trust God to give us strength in body and spirit to follow wherever He leads. “Give your burdens to the Lord. He will carry them. He will not permit the godly to slip or fall.” (Psalm 55:22)

Meanwhile, the orphan ministry in Thailand has not slowed down:

The children are still learning as they are given every educational & developmental opportunity we can provide. Here Rachel practices keyboard, and Rhoda does a computer homework assignment. “The character of even a child can be known by the way he/she acts–whether what one does is pure and right.” (Prov 20:11 paraphrase)

The house Parents are still engaged in many self-help projects—always learning new “life-skills” and developing their abilities.  “ Finally, brothers and sisters, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus that, as you learned from us how you ought to live and to please God…, you should do so more and more.” (1 Thess 4:1 nrsv)

In our homes, children continue to receive individual attention and encouragement in their schooling, and with their chores & small projects. Here Martha does homework, and Paula waters decorative plants to sell in the market. “They will be like a well-watered garden,
and they will sorrow no more. Then young women will dance and be glad…” (Jerem 31:1213)

We continue to structure free-time and play-time activity to bless the children in their social & intellectual growth. “This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love;” (Philippians 1:9 NCV)

What a blessing it has been to see children grow up in our Christian family homes! Here is Peter, of Home of Grace. He’s helping his house father clear ground for a garden- the inset shows Peter in the 1st year he came to Faithful Heart. As written in Luke 2:52, may it be obvious that young Peter has, “…increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people.”

The weather in Thailand (see chart below) won’t be too much warmer than what we’ve had in South Carolina. So Shirley & I will only have to get reacclimated to the time-change, but not the temperatures. Please pray that our packing & travel go well. “Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.” (Joshua 1:9 The Message)

Grace and peace to you in Jesus,
