Hello dear friends,
This week we have photos from our Happy Hearts Christian dorm in Chiang Klang. Because it’s a “dorm”, a home where poor village children come to live while they attend school, the mix of children can change from year to year. This school term our dorm parents, Lek & Nui have welcomed several new children.
Early in the morning, the children paused for a group photo before climbing into the old van and heading to their “first day of school”. The three new dorm children are on the right, and they seem too nervous to smile.
When children come to live in the dorm, each one is tested “on-line” to see if they might need special assistance or tutoring to supplement the public school classes.
At the big public school, the dorm children will have education opportunities which simply do not exist in their mountain village. Here the children stand during morning assembly.
At the dorm, house mother Nui teaches the children how to pick-clean-& prepare some herbs used in the evening meal.
At Happy Hearts Dorm, Lek and Nui are also involved in village evangelism. Here they’re leading a worship and Bible-study time.
After a Sunday morning of preaching & teaching, Lek prayed before all the villagers enjoyed a “church fellowship” lunch.
The hard work and activities here at Happy Hearts Dorm, mirror what goes on in all our orphan homes and supported dorms.
Please pray with us that God will bless and protect every home, all of the dear children, and all of the “caregiver” house parents.
“ Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should. O Jehovah, come and bless us!” (Psalm 90:12-13)
“Let us see your miracles again; let our children see glorious things, the kind you used to do, and let the Lord our God favor us and give us success.” (Psalm 90:16-17)
Grace and peace to you in Christ,
