This week we are so happy that two of our young boys from Home of Grace were recently baptised at their local Thai church. It is a good reminder, for you and for us, of what is our goal and focus of our mission work: To rescue children from danger, and lead them to know and love Christ.
Here you see Peter in the small baptismal pool, with several other young boys awaiting their turn. The church requires each new believer to complete a class of basic disciple training before they undergo the sacrament of baptism.
“I baptize you with water but he will baptize you with God’s Holy Spirit! “ (Mark 1:8)
Phillip had also made a profession of faith, and he was baptized and came out of the pool smiling!
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16)
This seems like a good time to reflect on how our boys have been growing and developing into young men. So, let’s look at a few “Before and After” comparison photos.
Here is Isaiah then-&-Now… 8 years ago, When he came to live in our Home of Blessing, and then in his recent portrait.
“You have rescued me, O God who keeps his promises. I worship only you;” (Psalm 31:5)
Next is Samuel from Home of Comfort. He also came to us 8 years ago, and has grown into a fine young man who hopes to have a career in the police or military.
“A good man will be rewarded for doing good,” (Ezek 18:20)
Timothy is another young man we’re proud of. He’s actually lived in both our Home of Blessing, and now our Home of Comfort boys dorm.
“Jesus Christ…died for our sins just as God our Father planned, and rescued us from this evil world in which we live.” (Galatians 1:3)
Another bit of activity to report– The afternoon sun makes our college dorm rooms very hot. So we’ve tried to create some shade by making wood & bamboo screens, and planting some fast-growing wines that will soon cover the screens to provide cooling shade for the rooms. I only came up with the plan– our college boys did all the hard work. In this photo (with inset) you see the result of their labor.
“the Lord arranged for a vine to grow up quickly and spread its broad leaves over Jonah’s head to shade him. This made him comfortable and very grateful.” (Jonah 4:5)
Please pray for our college dorm students. They’re trying to spend the semester break earning some money. And two of them, Tiida & Joshua, plan to use the time away from classes to take driving lessons too.
“Lady Wisdom will be your close friend, and Brother Knowledge your pleasant companion. Good Sense will scout ahead for danger, Insight will keep an eye out for you. They’ll keep you from making wrong turns, or following the bad directions” (Prov 2:10-12 The Message)
