Yes, I am doing my best to keep up with all the daily work here, and Shirley is very busy in America.
So, please let me share some of the recent activities that have kept us hanging on. “Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess,” (Hebrews 10:23)
The little guys in our Home of Light got their new school uniforms, and school backpacks. They have started classes after a nice summer break. “I look behind me and you’re there, then up ahead and you’re there, too— your reassuring presence, coming and going. This is too much, too wonderful…” (Psalm 139:5-6)
These photos from their last summer swimming trip show how the boys have already started to feel the closeness of “family”.
L-R are: Joseph, Mickey, James, Taxi, and David. “Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.” (Prov 18:24 The Message)
Our “maintenance & projects” guy, Joshua, just finished rebuilding our screened garden area, and then he used old tires to create growing beds for expanding our crop of peppermint & spearmint (used to flavor our Moringa tea). He’s a hard worker with a creative mind. “I’ve filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him skill and know-how and expertise in every kind of craft.” (Exodus 31:3)
Last Saturday we had a special afternoon activity—all the families came for our annual “Portrait day”. Each child and each family got a new picture taken, and then there was good food & games for everyone. This is Adjan Yae and the boys of our Home of Comfort dorm. “Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord, children are a reward…Happy is the man who has filled his quiver with them.” (Psalm 127:3-5 para)
Please remember to pray that God will keep all of our children & families “safe and sound” in Jesus.
“God will be right there with you; he’ll keep you safe and sound.” (Prov 3:26 The Message)
Many blessings to you in Christ,
