Callahan Corner: Jan 18, 2015
This week we want to look at several things going on in our foundation: the HARVEST, BUILDING, PLANTING, and GROWING.
In our just-finished rice HARVEST, we have both white-Jasmine rice (on the left below), and our first-ever crop of special “Rice-berry” dark and super-nutritious rice (on the right).
“The land has produced its harvest; God, our God, has blessed us.” (Psalm 67:6)
Though progress was slowed because of the rice harvest work, we’re still BUILDING the boys dorm…here you see the back-side retaining wall almost completed.
“Using the gift that God gave me, I did the work of an expert builder and laid the foundation, and another man is building on it. But each one must be careful how he builds.” (1 Corinthians 3:10)
The Faithful Heart “mission trip” that we were so happy to describe last week may already be having an impact…here Nathan, one of our older boys, is leading a Bible school group in a mountain village. Pray that we are PLANTING seeds of true faith in the children.
“But how can they call to him for help if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have not heard the message? And how can they hear if the message is not proclaimed? And how can the message be proclaimed if the messengers are not sent out? As the scripture says, “How wonderful is the coming of messengers who bring good news!” (Romans 10:14-15)
In all of our orphan homes and dorms, Bible study is a crucial part of how we mentor the children to come to saving faith that is always GROWING deeper & stronger.
“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes!” (Psalm 119:11-12)
Please keep on praying for the children living under our care & protection.
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all of you,
