Hello dear friends,
Because it’s been several weeks since our last newsletter, I’ll include a wide range of activities today.
During our Christmas celebration, Shirley & I had our photo taken with our house fathers—all good men!
(L-R) Mong, Yae, Shirl, Me, Choom, Tom, and Wep. “The men you choose must be well thought of for their good lives…” (Titus 1:6)
WE did the same pose with all our house mothers—all dear ladies!
(L-R) Nice, Moi, Pahn , Shirl, Me, Pikun, and Nidt (whose baby is due any day now). “Christian women should be noticed for being kind and good” (1 Tim 2:9-10)
Also, during the January holiday, we gave away warm blankets and knit caps to the poor & aged villagers. On the right-hand side below, Joy our social worker, helps distribute blankets. “Purity is best demonstrated by generosity.” (Luke 11:41)
The orphan children in our homes used part of their Christmas money to buy gifts & snacks to fill fifty (50) gift-bags for the children in a local hospital. Even Benjamin, who’s been a recent kidney-patient there, joined in the activity. “Try to show as much compassion as your Father does.” (Luke 6:36)
During the Christmas-New Year holidays, our families join in many special events and church activities. But the long school-days continue. Here John, from Home of Grace, looks like he needs a nap following the long ride home after school. But he still loves the other activities, like piano lessons at church. “Learn as you go along what pleases the Lord.” (Eph 5:10)
We were blessed by a visiting mission team from Tennessee. They helped us put on a 3-day spiritual retreat for local pastors and hill tribe evangelists. The team also had time to do several other “good works” as they tried to bless as many people as possible. “O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are right with the Lord” (Psalm 125:4)
Please remember to pray for the children, the families, and the caregivers.
May God give you peace and great joy,
