On Friday evening we invited all of our friends to join our families & children as we held a special dedication & worship celebration at our new boys dorm.
We sang worship songs, gave thanks to God, spoke a special blessing over the house and the boys, and then enjoyed a delicious fellowship meal…what a wonderful time!
Here is a picture of the completed dorm, taken while folks were just arriving for the evening of thanksgiving and celebration.
“Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people ….” (Neh 8:10)
And, here is a photo from the start of construction… taken way back in April 2014…it’s been a long process.
“ Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14)
Here Shirley is chatting with the boys in front of their lockers, with the second-floor balcony in the background. (L-R: Timothy, Solomon, Samuel, Nathan (facing Shirley), and Gawley.
“The good man (or woman) gives wise advice…The upright speak what is helpful;” (Prov 10:31-32)
Here (ready for school) are the boys who’ve already moved into the dorm. (L-R) Jacob, Timothy, Solomon, Jesse, Isaiah, Nathan, Paul, Samuel, and Josiah.
“urge the young men to behave carefully, taking life seriously. And here you yourself must be an example to them of good deeds of every kind.” (Titus 2:6-7)
The younger children, from all our families, formed a choir and sang a special song during the worship. If you look closely, you can see signs posted on the doors. There were many signs posted as “prayer stations” throughout the building, and all the attendees took time to tour the facility, stopping to offer specific prayer for each designated area (e.g. kitchen, study room, bedrooms, etc.).
“…so that they could join in celebrating the dedication with songs of thanksgiving” (Nehemiah 12:27)
On a typical morning, the boys get dressed in their school uniforms, spend time in devotion/prayer, eat breakfast together, then head off for a day of classes.
“They worshiped together regularly… and shared their meals with great joy and thankfulness, praising God.” (Matt 2:46-47)
Please pray for: Our endurance; ask God to keep blessing us with enough wisdom & energy & health to serve Him as He is works among the children & families.
“Remember your reward! You need to keep on patiently doing God’s will if you want him to do for you all that he has promised. His coming will not be delayed much longer.” (Heb 10:35-37)
