Hello Dear friends,
Just one more day with our family here before we head back to Thailand.
We’ve had a wonderful and blessed time here in the US, but now we’re feeling “homesick” for the children, the families, and the good people we work with in our foundation.
God gave us opportunities to travel to many places this summer, and visit with some sponsors and dear friends in faith. We’ve met new friends and have had a few times to tell of the great things God is doing among the poor orphaned & abandoned hill tribe children. Praise be to God for allowing our Faithful Heart Foundation to play a role in His Kingdom work!
We visited our dear friends at ISAAC foundation in beautiful Vienna Virginia, near Washington DC. It’s a beautiful place to live, or visit! (this isn’t their home, but it’s nearby) “They [God’s people] shall shine in his land as glittering jewels in a crown. How wonderful and beautiful all shall be!” (Zek 9:16)
We spoke at a church in Asheville, where the “family of faith” welcomed us in graceful kindness …a beautiful city, and sweet people.
“Those who welcome you are welcoming me. And when they welcome me they are welcoming God who sent me.” (Matt 10:40)
We also went down to Birmingham Alabama to visit and speak in a small Baptist church. We enjoyed a sweet time with the good people who hosted us there! Surely, they’ve learned to: “Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.” (1 Pet 4:9)
We traveled with our family & grandkids to Florida, for a few days of R&R…wow, that was simply much better than we deserved.
“He [GOD] makes the winds blow and sets the boundaries of the oceans.” (Job 28:25)
From Florida we went to a tiny town, named Whitefish Montana, to spend a few days with friends who are faithful supporters of the orphan children. What a fun time we had with this couple who are blessed to live in a place where the glory of God is so radiant in His creation.
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature.” (Romans 1:20)
We also visited dear friends and sponsors in Lubbock Texas, the flattest place we’re ever experienced! However, the deepest impression left by that visit is the sweet sense that God is at-work among the believers there. “Trust in the Lord and do good; live in the land and be safe.
Seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desire.”” (Psalm 37:3-4)
And now we’re back in Gaffney South Carolina, our home-base with our family of faith, packing for the long trip home to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
“But our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philip 3:20)
As we prepare to return to Thailand, please join us in prayer for little Benjamin. He is already going through daily dialysis treatments because of his failing kidneys. Shirley & I are praying for his comfort and for his strength to return. The doctors say he has a long road ahead of daily treatments and he’s been put on the 1-5 year waiting list to find an organ donor. “O Lord, do not stay far away! You are my strength; come quickly to my aid!” (Psalm 22:19)
We have no real estimate of what his medical expenses may be, but we’re absolutely committed to help Benjamin receive the best care & treatment possible. We’ll create a special fund for gifts designated for his medical expenses, and trust God to provide all that’s needed.
May the peace of Christ fill your heart,
