Faithful Heart News

Callahan Corner April 26, 2015

The weather is slowly changing from Hot-Dry to Hot-Wet in Chiang Mai. We’ve had a first few showers of the year (it doesn’t rain between November and April). This week we’ll talk about some other changes under way here.

Barnabus, is a new addition to our “College Christian Dorm”. He’ll live here at our compound while he attends classes at Payap Technical school. “Open my eyes, so that I may see the wonderful truths in your law.” (Psalm 119:18)

Yesterday, we met the parents of Timmy—the young ministry student and boyfriend of Cherry (center here). His father is pastor of a church near Chiang Rai. Cherry & Timmy announced their plans to be engaged and married when he finishes college. “Listen, and I will teach you what wise men have said. Study their teachings, and you will be glad if you remember them and can quote them.” (Prov 22:17-18)

photobombing : Intentionally posing in other people’s photos, for a later surprise. Usually people making funny faces in the background, without the knowledge of the main subjects of the photo. Matt has mastered the art of “photobombing”. “The LORD has filled my heart with joy; how happy I am because of what he has done!” (1 Sam 2:1)

As usual, every season brings out a different multitude of insects…both of these 6-8 inch “bad-boys” made a recent visit…no one was bitten or stung! “He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you.” (Psalm 91:4)

Changes are constant and normal, but they can tire us out. May God give us strength for each day. “In a couple of days we’ll feel better. By the third day he’ll have made us brand–new, Alive and on our feet, fit to face him.” (Hosea 6:2 The Message)

We miss you! As you see the disappointment in Ruth’s sad face (she didn’t want to get out of the water!). Remember that you are all loved and constantly prayed-for in Thailand. “So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you.” (Coloss 1:9)

Please remember to pray for all of us here as we strive to grow more like Jesus. Pray this for all of our volunteers, staff, care-givers, and children: “They will receive the Lord ‘s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior.” (Psalm 24:5)

Grace and peace be with you forever in Christ,
