Hello dear friends,

Shirley is feeling better, and we’re all so happy that God has answered our prayers for her healing! “Finally hearing good news from a distant land is like a drink of cold water when you are dry and thirsty.” (Proverbs 25:25)

For most of her time in the hospital, she wasn’t up to having visitors. But, before she came home, our office staff paid her a short visit. Here (L-R) Pen, Joy, Matt and I tried to cheer her with our smiles. “please do me this favor for the Lord’s sake; as a brother [or sister] in Christ, cheer me up!” (Philemon 1:20)

Meanwhile, it was time for our annual “community assistance” project. This is our response to a government request that we also do things to help our local community. This year we decided to clean-up trash and repair pot-holes in the neighborhood near our office. The girls job was to collect trash along the dirt & gravel road. All the families, staff, and children helped. We tried to be cheerful followers of Jesus—doing good for others. “Do what the Lord says is right and good, and all will go well with you.” (Deut 6:18)

The roadway had become nearly impassable with many potholes. We worked on a Saturday to fill the holes with cement. “For My people will live a long time, like the days of a tree. And for a long time My chosen ones will enjoy the work of their hands.” (Isaiah 65:22)

There were so many big & deep pot-holes that it took all day to do our repairs. The neighbors were amazed that we’d do this hard work for their benefit. Each time we filled a hole with cement, we laid down some greenery to mark the finished repair…more holes than flat roadway! “But you be strong. Do not lose strength of heart. For you will be paid for your work.” (2 Chron 15:7)

November has also been the time to harvest our wet-season crop of rice. We hired this man to bring his harvester into our paddy field. “The earth has given its fruit. God, our God, will bring good to us.” (Psalm 67:6)

On days when he’s well enough, little Benjamin loves to attend school. The school has a medical clinic room where his house mother can give him the dialysis treatment at 10am and again at 2pm during the school-day. Please keep praying that God will bless us to find a suitable kidney donor. (sorry for this poor quality photo) “yet I will have joy in the Lord. I will be glad in the God Who saves me.” (Habakkuk 3:18)

Thank you and bless you in Jesus,
