Callahan Corner: Jan 11, 2015
We’d like to share a couple more photos from our mission trip. It was such a powerful and encouraging day; to see all the villagers giving close attention to the message and enjoying the program that our families presented.
At one point, our house fathers led a special prayer time for three sick village men who came forward. “O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.” (Psalm 65:2)
This young Christian couple travelled by motorbike to the village from Chiang Dao, just to meet Shirley & I and ask that we pray and consider them to start a new orphan home one day. “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober- minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:13)
The weather has brought some unseasonal cool temps and rain this week, but the beautiful flowering bushes in our compound are growing like crazy. “Yes, grass withers and flowers fade, but the word of our God endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)
At Home of Faith, the girls were making faces as they posed with a very special winter treat—an outdoor barbecue dinner of noodles and several meats: chicken, fish, pork balls, fish balls, and sausages! Yummy! “Now you will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied. You will praise the LORD your God, who has done wonderful things for you.” (Joel 2:26)
Please pray that God will keep all of our children and house parents safe and healthy during the cold and wet weather. Grace and peace to you in Christ,
